Born in Sydney, Australia, Matt Doran has—and is—continuing to have a diverse career. Probably most well known to Australians as “Damien Roberts” from Home & Away, Matt has also starred in some of the biggest sci-fi productions filmed in Australia. His big break that exposed him to the international scene was playing “Mouse” in The Matrix alongside Keanu Reeves and Laurence Fishburne. He followed it up in Star Wars Episode II - Attack of the Clones. His role as “Elan Sleazebaggano,” the Balosar medical student who offered Obi-Wan Kenobi “death sticks” in the Outlander Club on Coruscant was brief, but memorable…not only for himself, but the legions of Star Wars fans across the globe.
He has also worked with some of Australia’s most renowned theatre companies. Productions have included The Mikdado, Trartuffe, Private Lives, The Ventian Twins, A Christmas Carol, The Shaughraun, The Game of Love & Chance, The Barrets of Wimpole Street, A Month in the Country and Paris—for which he received the Matilda Award for Excellence in Performance from the Brisbane Theatre Critics’ Association for his role as Letrec.
